Is my house haunted? I don't know. I don't even like to think of my house as haunted. When I hear the phrase haunted house I automatically think of those cheesy attractions that pop up around halloween ever year. The majority of us have been to one and there all good and fun for a good scare, but that is not my house. There are no ghosts of ghouls waiting in the dark corners or have Michael Myers living in my basement. Then again I still get the creeps, goosebumps, the heebie-jeebies or whatever you want to call it from the weird things that happen.
In one of my posts I mentioned that my wife and I hear footsteps from time to time, well this happened last week. Our daughter was a sleep on the couch in the living room so we decided to go into the basement and watch "Dexter" on the t.v. which is set up down there. We watched one episode and started to watch another one when we both distinctively heard three footsteps that sounded just like our daughter walking around. I called up stairs to her to let her know we are in the basement and to come downstairs with us, but there was no response. We both look at each other knowing what each other was thinking. We hurry up stairs to get to our daughter to make sure she was ok. We found her sound a sleep right where we left her. My wife and I double checked the locks on the doors and windows being paranoid that someone might have been in the house. Not wanting to leave our daughter alone we all went to sleep in the same room that night.
This happened two days ago. It was early morning around 7:30 A.M. We could hear that our daughter was awake and playing in her room. My wife and I were just laying there, really not wanting to get out of the warm cozy bed. My wife's alarm starts to go off on her phone, she grabs her phone and turns it off. She sets it back on the nightstand, a couple of seconds later we both hear three loud knocks. As if someone was knocking on the windowsill right next to us. At first I thought it was my wife fumbling around with her phone. Then she asks me "did you just do that". As soon as she said that I got the chills. I cant really explain where the knocking came from and it wasn't something I expected to happen. I'm just glad my daughter wasn't in there to hear it, she is already having trouble sleeping at night.
