Well the house that I live in today was my childhood home. My wife and I bought it back in 2005 from my parents, this house was much bigger than the house we were living in so the upgrade in more space was nice but it came with a price and I'm not just talking about the mortgage. Here is one of the first stories I told my wife before we bought the house.
This one event happen way back during the 1980's I can't recall the exact date but I know it happen when PeeWee Herman was just becoming popular (Rofl the 80's). As I mentioned in my first post that my house has two levels and it was built back in the 1920's, being a somewhat old house the stairs leading up to the second level would creek and squeak when someone would walk up them. Well one night my dad just got home from work he was on second shift at that time so it was around 10:30 at night. Me and my two sisters and my mom where all upstairs sleeping or pretending to sleep as kids do. I clearly heard my dad enter the house and start to take all his police gear off and setting it on the dinning room table. A couple of minutes went by and I stopped hearing my dad moving around so I just figured he was on the couch watching t.v. Than I started to hear someone on the stairs, they walked up to the landing than walked up the second pair of stairs and they just stopped at the top than a couple seconds later they would walked all the way back down. This happened three times. On the third time my sisters and I got out of our beds with or pillows in hand thinking it was just our dad playing tricks on us and we where going to give him a thrashing. So we heard someone stop at the top of the stairs, we jumped around the corner turned the hall light on and to our surprise or horror I was pretty scared now, there was no one there.
We stood there a about a minute just looking at each other I must have had a scared look on my face because one of my sisters, the braver one, said she would go down stairs and see if our dad was really home and that I should go and wait with my other sister in there room. She made her way down the stairs and into the living room were the t.v. was on and my dad was fast asleep on the couch. I could hear my sister yelling at him asking him why he was scaring us and by that time my mom was awake going to down stairs to see what was going on. To this day my dad swears he was asleep on the couch the whole time and not once did he go upstairs.
