I'm going to share two experiences that occurred when I was in elementary school. If anyone else would like to share a experience please feel free to post it in the comment section.
It is a exciting time when children are finally old enough to have sleepovers with there friends or family. Getting to eat junk food and play video games till the wee hours of night will always be fun. I remember when I was in second grade a friend stayed the night at my house. My parents were busy tearing up carpet , so we pretty much entertained ourselves by playing with G.I. Joe's and Nintendo. It was getting pretty late and our sugar highs were starting to wear off so we decided to put down the controllers and stop playing "Ninja Gaiden" so we could get some sleep. My room was set up so my bed was against a wall and the other side was facing my room, which I hated because it always felt like someone was watching you. I was sleeping against the wall and my friend had the side which faced the room. We had been asleep for a hour or two when I felt the blankets rather forcibly being pulled away, I was thinking man what a jerk. Than my friend started to complain to me asking me why I took all the blankets. We both accused each other a couple times of being a blanket hogs when I told him I felt the blankets being pulled away from me towards his side of the bed. Than he sat up real fast and scooted over towards where I was. I could make out a look on his face of surprise mixed in with some fear. I was going to ask him what his problem was when I saw what he was looking at. The blanket was pulled off of us and was thrown almost across the room next to my dresser. Sadly that was the last time he stayed the night.
During the summer between 6th and 7th grade my parents moved my bedroom to the basement so my sisters could have separate rooms, I guess they were getting sick of each other. It took awhile to get used to being down there with all the new and different noises one hears in any basement. I would get the feeling that I was being watched from time to time, but I was used to that already, but one night I was sitting on my bed doing home work with the family cat sitting at my feet. Out of nowhere my cat starts to arch her back and hiss at something, the weirdest part was that she would move as if she was watching something move back and forth. I was freaked out. I was thinking to myself man I have to sleep down here tonight, that very thought just sucked. Well that night when I was about to go to sleep I felt as if someone laid down next to me. Just imagine if your wife, husband or kid plops down next to you when your in bed. That's what it felt like. I jumped out of bed not even looking to see if anyone was there and ran outside where I stayed for awhile before I went back inside, fighting hard the urge to go upstairs and sleep on my parents floor. I laid on the living room couch that night getting very little sleep.
